Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I work with adults navigating major life transitions, grief, and periods of feeling stuck or disconnected - often people who look successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed or lost internally. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals managing anxiety, burnout, or a sense that something needs to change.

What is EMDR, and who is it for?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy approach that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories and experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming. It's often used for trauma, anxiety, grief, and stuck patterns of thinking. I'm trained in Level 1 EMDR and incorporate it when it's a good fit for a client's goals.

Do you offer grief counseling?

Yes. Grief counseling is a core focus of my practice, and I'm currently pursuing an Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist certification. I work with adults grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a career, or a former version of their life.

Do you accept insurance?

I'm in-network with Aetna and a provider under Centrus Health Direct. If you have a different insurance provider, I'm happy to provide a superbill and have a few reduced-rate openings. Reach out and we can figure out what works for your situation.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

My practice is primarily virtual, with in-person sessions available on Tuesdays. I work with adults throughout Kansas - from Overland Park and Johnson County to as far as Garden City - so it's easy to fit therapy into a busy schedule without the commute.

What makes your approach different?

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years in a corporate career. That background shapes how I work with high-functioning adults. I understand the pressure of holding it together professionally while feeling stuck personally, and I aim to create sessions that feel more like a real conversation than a formal clinical appointment.

Are you a licensed therapist?

Yes. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Kansas, working under clinical supervision toward independent licensure (LCPC). I hold a master's degree from Avila University.
